Edenbridge Cricket Club Saturday 2nd XI v Horsted Keynes on Sat 18 Jul 2009 at 2.00
Edenbridge Cricket Club Won by 205 runs

Match report what a difference a week makes. The wicket looked a carbon copy of last weeks flat slow surface but in fact was nothing like it. With capt Bob back in his whites we won toss and elected to bat again. Off to worst possible start Phil was out 2nd ball, Kevin[10] was looking set but he was out not long after LBW. Nirage came in at 4 and started with a bang but he was ct out for 13.This brought a hangover free George to the wkt and he started with a flurry of strokes which eased us away from a dodgy start. With Tim holding one end up and George in full flow the score was rising at a steady rate. George reached his fifty and then went up a gear before being ct out for 88 and ending a 150 run partnership for the 4th wkt. Enter Phil mallard who had been prowling the boundary waiting for his chance at the bowling now on offer. Tim reached his fifty as Phil launched into the Horsted bowling and made his fifty in just 26 ball, enabling Bob to declare at 272 for 4 with Tim 74no and the mallard 52no. Last week we were guilty of not holding our cathes, what a difference a week makes. Toby bowling from the top end took an amazing ct and bowled to get us started and then had a 2nd wkt courtesy of a stunning catch at point held by Ben Porter.Toby bowling his best spell of season was at it again taking two more wickets. The old man now picked up a wkt and Horsted were in big trouble. It did look for a while that Ray fuller might steady the Horsted reply but he was run out(George] which exposed the tail which gave Toby 2 more wkts and the game was wrapped up the over before the last twenty by James Langton. A great performance against a young Hosted with 3 fifties and Toby Taking 6 for 40.
