Horsmonden v Edenbridge Cricket Club redundant on Tue 08 May 2007 at 6pm
Edenbridge Cricket Club Lost

Match report Our first ever U11 League match! We batted first and built up a steady score, lead by Stephen playing a very responsible innings to retire at 26. George S occupied the crease for a long while anchoring one end unlucky to not find more gaps. Billy played some nice shots too for 8 no. We reached 95 for 4 in our 20 overs. Apparently 120 is a challenging score to reach.

Our bowling was fair enough, and they were behind the run rate for the first half of the match. However 18 wides meant 36 runs which is too many - hopefully the accuracy will improve as the season progresses. As the darkness fell I thought we might sneak in some cunning balls to get back into it with more wickets, but to no avail. They reached the required score with an over to go, so not much in it really.

I think in the end they just had a bit more batting firepower than we did.

We get 2 league points for reaching 75 runs.

Thanks to Kevin for umpiring.
