Wadhurst v Edenbridge Cricket Club Under 15 on Sun 03 Jun 2007 at 10.00
Edenbridge Cricket Club Lost by 9 wickets

Match report Edenbridge won the toss and decided to bat first on a very green pitch. Uneven bounce and balls that stopped made batting difficult- 11 runs off the 1st 6 overs. Seb rode his luck(6 chances early on)to hold the innings together with an unbeaten 50 and a nice little cameo from Jamie Tyson at the end saw Edenbridge make 95 for 9 from their 22 overs. In reply Wadhurst lost an early wicket to the bowling of Levi with a nice sharp catch from Tom. However after this the bowling was lacklustre and Wadhurst cashed in on some poor bowling which was often too short and down the leg side. They eased to victory with over eight overs to spare. Key learnings
1. Edenbridge must use the pitch to their advantage more by pitching the ball up, on or just outside off stump and asking questions of the batsman.
2. Too often our batsmen were hitting the bad balls in the air straight at fielders. Keep the ball down on the floor until you've played yourself in and then if you must take the aerial route know where the fielders are and play to the vacant areas accordingly.
