Edenbridge Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI v Forest Row on Sat 12 Jul 2008 at 2.00
Edenbridge Cricket Club Won by 9 wickets

Match report Well it looked like the weather was going to get the better of us, but in the end we managed to get a game!
We won the toss and put Forest Row into bat. We took the initiative and Andy Hill and Gat Fuller opened the bowling for us, putting early pressure on the openers. The breakthrough came from Andy Hill as he bowled him round his legs to get the wickets tumbling, and Gat Fuller hit right back with one of his own in the next over. Soon we had Forest Row down to 24-3, and we looked on for our 3rd victory in a row!
We continued to work hard in the field and we found ourselves bowling them out for 60, with Gat Fuller taking 5-41, and Andy Hill taking 3-14 in their overs. There were aso good catches from Phil Millard, Jon Woodman, Tom King, Tim Cox, and 2 from Gat.

After some strong work in the field, we turned straight around to bat, and as we all hoped that Tim didn't get out and destroy OUR clubhouse, we quickly chipped off 30 runs before tea, but we did lose Jon Woodman (10) on the way!

After tea, when we were 30 for 1, it didn't take long (or any more batsmen) to knock off the other 30, as Tim hit 27* and Joycie smashed a swift 16*.

On the day, to be perfectly honest, we were far too much for this Forest Row team, as we finished before 6 o'clock struck. Our fielding was tight, our bowling accurate (as one leg-bye was the only extra of our bowling), and the batting followed suit.

It was a great performance, and yet again, I won as captain! Thanks lads! 3 wins from 3! 100% record!

Anyway, what we did after the game was to discuss the best way of letting Howard know that he was sacked. So we took it in turns to send him a text, and this should be considered the confirmation!

HOWARD YOU'RE SACKED! There's a new regime now!

TEAS: I think that the rumblings around the table proved that the teas, made this week by Howard's gran, were absolutely superb. There was variety for all, cakes which were homemade, and everything from penguins to mini doughnuts for those of us who wanted them! They also coped well with the timings of the tea! SUPERB JOB!!! 9.5/10
